St. Lawrence Cemetery Memorials

WPA Era Catholic Cemetery Managed By St. Michael's Church

According to official documents, St. Lawrence Cemetery was built as part of an 1851 Works Progress Admninistration (WPA) depression-era project. The land also held the parish church, a small building close to the size of a family home.

Today, the Independence cemetery is managed by St. Michael’s Catholic Church. Kotecki Family Memorials provides markers and custom monuments to all resident families. In all, the cemetery has nearly 600 gravesites.

Early descendants interred included church members originally from Ginting, Switzerland. The Swiss immigrants came to the US to work in the local quarries.

Our local Kotecki professionals can provide design and Memorial pricing options.
