Cemetery Dates Back To 1830 Founding Of Litchfield Township

Recognized as one of Medina County’s oldest cemeteries with a long history, members of the Kotecki Family Memorials team have proudly served Litchfield Burial Park for over one hundred years.

The park was founded in 1831, one year after the establishment of York Township. It is located east of the intersection of Norwalk Road (Route 18) and Avon Lake Road (Route 83). 

With nearly 2,000 memorials, the cemetery represents a historic and growing period for the region. According to reports, Asa Strait had move into the new township. Within a year, his 13-year-old daughter Jane Strait died of unknown circumstances, and was the first burial in the cemetery.

Located on the north side of Norwalk Road (Route 18), Litchfield Burial Park was founded in 1831 – just one year after the establishment of Litchfield Township. Also known as Litchfield Center Cemetery, it serves as a historic interment site in western Medina County.
